The Contois Music Family celebrates 50 years

Today the Contois Family celebrates 50 years providing music, instruments, and education. We opened the Piano & Organ store on Pearl Street in Essex Junction on Saturday, December 1, 1971. My Dad was still working at IBM and my Mom and I managed the shop along with help from family until he got out of work. We've met so many people along the way and there are so many memories to share. We plan to share these memories, events, and milestones throughout the year, so stay tuned. Thanks to everyone who has been a part of our musical journey over the years, and we look forward to continuing the tradition and legacy with Soli Music.

OPENING DAY

It all started Saturday, December 1, 1971. My Grandfather was a violinist, so music was already in the family. My Dad started to work on Player Pianos and decided to build and open a piano and organ shop of his own. He obtained the Conn Organ franchise and we were on our way! Here are some photos from opening day and those beginning years.
